BP IN PALM SPRINGS + A COMPLETED PROJECT

///I flew down to Palm Springs this past week for a few days to put the finishing touches on a vacation home I have been working for almost a year now for some Seattle clients of mine. The 100 degree weather, chardonnay, great company, pools, golf carts and cocktail parties were just what I needed...oh, yeah and the amazing vintage shopping and doing the final install on the house was fun too...
///...in the main living area, I had blue grass cloth installed on the walls to add texture and this past weeks trip saw the install of over 40 plates and ceramics that I had been collecting over the past 6 months for the project, to said wall. The finished look (which you will see at a later date, sorry...) was really quite cool if I do say so myself. You can see a few more teaser shots of the project on my website as well!
(paul evans...heart attack)
/// I decided on a pair of these bad boy cork lamps for the master bedroom which I found in Palm Springs at a favorite shop of mine called HEDGE. Please DO check it and the other great shops on that row if you find yourself in the desert.
///...and the lamps installed a top a turn of the century french desk from Susan Wheeler Home here in Seattle.
( breakfast a top the marble dining table that matches the fireplace I had installed towards the beginning of the project.)

///We had lunch one day at the Parker hotel which was great because in all of my trips to Palm Springs, I had yet to visit it.
///Three days and a lot of work (read: some pool time) later I was on a plane back to Seattle to enjoy the most beautiful weekend we've had in quite a long time in many ways. More on this project and others soon!

4.16.2012///A KITCHEN NOOK, A COMMERCIAL PROJECT, 23 HOURS IN PORTLAND + A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT OF COFFEE

///Moving to other areas of the new place this past week with a new kitchen area. I have actually been tracking the chairs all morning. EN ROUTE. I hope to enjoy breakfast here in the morning but currently it is being used a wiring/electrical station for a lamp for a clients entry way.
///In the quest to become an adult (well see) and with an upcoming Spring Fete' at my place I have purchased some dinner ware from which the entire table will be designed around. I look forward to this quite a bit.
///I was VERY randomly handed the task of designing and project managing a new furniture store that will be located in Ballard. After a short meeting last night at the space, some bourbon and a little BBQ I was back at home laying out the space as the demo work started just this morning! Excited for the opportunity to branch out. More to come!
///Having not been to the Seattle Arctic Club yet here in Seattle, I visited and was blown away by some of the design, most notably this detail of the ceiling in the ballroom...
///...so blown away in fact that I needed a cookie afterwords.
///I took a quick 24 hour trip to Portland to pay my respects to a dear friend and former client who passed away a few weeks back after a long battle with cancer. His life was full of laughter and he inspired everyone who he came in contact with. I hadn't been back to Portland since opening the Blackbird store down there this past summer, so it was also a chance to catch up with some friends and to relax for a short while...
///...and relax we did.

///a last coffee at heart in Portland and it was on the road back to Seattle for us. I head to Palm Springs on Wednesday to work on finishing up a big chunk of a project which I cant wait to share with you. The warm weather and seeing my dear clients will be a nice treat indeed. I will be sure to post pictures from that when I return.
BE WELL.

Going through some paint samples I have used/considered this past year on a number of different projects, I culled together along with a few other favorites a "forecast" although I don"t really know when these colors would ever go out of style. Anyways, Benjamin Moore, through and through. Good stuff. ENJOY.
ps: YES, one of them is called " American cheese...amazing.

4.9.2012///PROJECT UPDATES, PINTEREST, SEATTLE SUNSHINE + A FOND FAREWELL TO A LARGE COLLECTION

///I am loving ending my days in my new bedroom, great quiet light perfect for reading.
///This lovely ficus made its way into my life and home this weekend and I love looking over at it as I work away at my desk.
///A clients kitchen will be getting some custom preppy banquette seating made with super soft seek sucker in black and white with black chambray welting. Excited for that install along with the rest of the room.
///This blog has changed quite a bit over the past few months. I wanted a few more outlets for creativity and felt this the best place to share the day to day. My PINTEREST page is the place to find my "brain dump" in the form of my INSPIRATION posts just like the blog used to be, but faster and MORE often as well as having individual pages for most of the projects that I am currently working on, like this bachelor pad above. This way I can share information more easily. I do hope you enjoy it.
///Earlier this week I took on the daunting task of organizing my massive photo collection for re-sale. It was bitter sweet letting go of them, but I know they will be found just the way I did by many more people. The 5 photos above are my most prized and I have held on to those to remind of all the joy the lot brought me. It was time to move on and see new things.

...and now some inspirational shots from walks in the sun this week.
ENJOY YOUR WEEK, ENJOY YOUR SELF
